Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are scheduled to engage with the military during their upcoming visit to Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters has revealed that the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle are scheduled to visit Nigeria in May. This announcement was made in a statement issued by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, over the weekend. According to the statement, the royal couple will engage with military personnel during their visit and will also participate in various cultural activities. Brigadier General Gusau stated, “The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, is pleased and honored by the acceptance of the Duke of Sussex, His Royal Highness, Prince Harry, and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, to visit Nigeria in May 2024.” He further mentioned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle founded the Invictus Games, an international multi-sporting event that provides a recovery platform for wounded, injured, and sick service men and women worldwide. Brigadier General Gusau highlighted the success of the Invictus Games, with Nigeria winning gold and silver medals in its first appearance last year. He also mentioned the possibility of Nigeria hosting the event in the future, and the Duke’s visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the games.
