Police College Oji River Passes Out 131 South-East Vigilante Personnel

The Nigeria Police College, Oji River, Enugu State, on Saturday held the Passing-Out Parade for 131 personnel of the South-East Vigilante Group of Nigeria, SEVGN, after a one-week intensive training programme at the college.
The ceremony took place at the Number One Parade Ground, Police College Oji River.
The graduates comprised 109 personnel from Abia State, 8 from Ebonyi State, and 13 from Enugu State.
Speaking at the event, the Commandant, Police College Oji River, AIG Emmanuel Simon Bretet, PSC(+), MSPSP, commended the personnel for their discipline, commitment, resilience, and dedication throughout the training.
He urged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, discipline, respect for human rights, and effective collaboration with other security agencies to ensure peace and public safety in their communities.
AIG Bretet said the training aligns with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC(+), NPM, to strengthen community policing, enhance internal security, and promote strategic partnerships between the police and other stakeholders in safeguarding lives and property.
The Commandant also appreciated the Deputy Commandant, CP Uduak Otu Ita, JP, PSC(+), FSI, MNIPS, the College Management Team, directing staff, instructors, and all personnel whose efforts contributed to the successful training and parade.
According to him, all participants underwent comprehensive theoretical and practical training to enhance their capacity for community-based security operations.
The programme covered drill, combat training, discipline, professional ethics, legal studies, human rights, and other essential aspects of security operations, to equip participants with the knowledge and competence to discharge their duties responsibly and in accordance with the law.
The graduates demonstrated parade drills, combat training, tactical movements, and other operational exercises.
The event was attended by senior police officers, government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, representatives of security agencies, families of the graduates, and other distinguished guests. They commended the Nigeria Police Force and the Police College Oji River for their commitment to professional training and community-based security initiatives.
The Police College Oji River restated its commitment to producing disciplined, professional, and competent personnel through quality training that supports national security, public safety, and the advancement of community policing nationwide.
