POCACOV APPOINTS CROWNED RULER OF AMANUKE ERI KINGDOM IGWE DENNIS EZEBUILO, OGBUODUDU 11 PATRON OF POCACOV IN ANMBRA STATE

The Crowned Ruler of Amanuke Eri Kingdom His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo, Ogbuodudu 11, has been appointed the patron of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Anambra state.

At a brief ceremony done in line with the Covid 19 protocol, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu said that POCACOV quite appreciates the traditional ruler’s input and contribution towards the security of his community Amanuke and Anambra state in general.

He commended Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo’s immense steps in building a Police station in Amanuke to ensure police presence in the community.

Amaraizu described Igwe Dennis as a man that over time stood against injustice and a lover of community policing and the youth.

The POCACOV National Coordinator said that POCACOV is identifying with the traditional ruler in view of laudable efforts and projects he has undertaken in the area of community policing and youth value reorientation and engagement in his community.

CSP Amaraizu hinted that the use of notable actors, actresses, artistes and traditional rulers as Ambassadors and patrons is to influence the youths in the campaign, aimed at reducing the incidence of Cultism and other Vices in Nigeria through sensitization, awareness creation, advocacy, mentoring and reorientation.

He emphasized that the appointment of the traditional ruler as POCACOV Patron in Anambra state is in line with the roles of traditional rulers as the custodians of culture and chief security officers of their Kingdoms.

The POCACOV National Coordinator, Amaraizu maintained that as the Patron of POCACOV in Anambra state, the campaign will through his youth engagement and quest for a secure Amanuke, reach out to youths of Anambra state on the need to avoid involvement in cultism and other vices.

In his reaction, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo, the Crowned Ruler of Amanuke Eri Kingdom thanked the National coordinator of POCACOV and his team for deeming him worthy to be the patron of the campaign in Anambra state.

He praised the Inspector General of Police for the initiative and stressed the need for community policing in Anambra state.

Igwe Dennis stated that his community Amanuke is lacking in the area of Federal Government presence in the community.

He stated that security remains the bedrock of development in any society and that the presence of a police station in a community indicates Federal Government presence, which informed his building a police station for his community.

He called on the Federal and state government to assist him in completing the police station as where there is absence of security of lives, businesses will crumble and the community economy will collapse.

Igwe Dennis used the occasion to pledge his total support to Community policing and urged Anambra state Government to pay more attention to Community policing and endeavor to educate residents on its benefits.

Recall that POCACOV is an initiative of the Inspector General of police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Npm, mni, aimed at saving Nigerian youths from the dangers of cultism, associated violence and other vices and getting those involved back into the society by de-radicalizing them through reorientation.

POCACOV has a unique characteristic anchored on the fact that it is community driven and in tandem with the tenets of community oriented policing.

Members of the POCACOV team at the event, in line with the COVID 19 protocol included the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, the Adviser to the IGP on Media and POCACOV Stakeholder Shina Philips and the POCACOV Media Officer Onuora Aninwobodo.
