It was cheering news when the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof Joseph Ahaneku, FAS and the current Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Administration, Prof Joseph Ikechebelu among 134 others were inducted into the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria(AMSN).
Four of the inductees are serving government ministers and they are the ministers of Health, Dr Osagie Ohanire; Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu; Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu and the Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora.
The ministers were inducted July 29th ,2021 as honorary fellow of the academy alongside a business mogul, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu.
The Chairman Board of Trustees of the academy and co-founder, EkoCorps Plc, Dr Sonny Kuku was excited alongside his Vice-Chairman of Board , Prof Frank Giwa-Osagie.
Prof Oladapo Ashiru is the President of the Academy.
Speaking to www.odogwublog.com Prof Joseph Ikechebelu described the honour as well deserved and pledged to continue to do his best to serve humanity.
Prof Ahaneku was inaugurated as the foundation Vice-President as well as Chairman (Basic Clinical Sciences) of the Academy while Prof Ikechebelu is a foundation member of the Academy. They were inaugurated at Radisson Blu Hotel ,Ikeja ,Lagos.
