Over 1,370 Party Members Decamp To APGA, As Awogu Declare For House of Reps

No fewer than 1,370  party members have, yesterday, decamped to All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Ogbaru Local government areas, Anambra State.

The new APGA members decamped from PDP, APC, YPP and LP, respectively and were received during the official declaration of Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu who is contesting Ogbaru Federal House of Representatives in the 2023 general election.

Addressing mammoth crowd of party supporters at the event, Ogbaru LG APGA party Chairman, Hon. Nnamdi Ifejika poured encomium to party members, reminding them that Hon. Awogu singlehandedly consolidated and sustained APGA party in Ogbaru LG for four years.

He added that Awogu ensured the survival and growth of the party in the area, praying God to bless him and grant him victory in his election.

Hon. Ifejika who advised Awogu to discard gossips from sycophants and oppositions, pleaded with the people who may have been offended by the aspirant during his time as the transition Council Chairman.

Commenting, the Anambra State Commissioner for information, Sir. Paul Nwosu described Hon. Awogu as a resourceful and energetic leader, who had strived to empower Ogbaru people through social projects.

Sir. Nwosu urged the party members to look beyond the party primaries and work towards ensuring that Hon. Awogu emerge victory in the February 2023 Nigeria general election.

Also speaking, APGA Chieftain, Chief Afam Odogwu noted that Hon. Awogu is a tested and trusted indigene of Ogbaru, stating that “Ogbaru has no reason of looking elsewhere for credible candidate to represent them in the Green Chamber of Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Ochiagha, as he is fondly called, urged the people to resist the desire of the current member representing Ogbaru in the Federal House of Representatives to go for 4th term, positing that “Ogbaru people would never succumb to such desire.”

Similarly, a group under the aegis of Great Ambassadors, a pressure groups in the opposition party led by Comrade John Paul Adimali noted that APGA party is a moving train, saying that such prompted them to join APGA. The group expressed that Hon. Awogu’s capacity building and impeccable leadership qualities was responsible for their decision to join the Party.

Earlier in his declaration speech, Hon. Awogu stated that he would anchor on quality and accessible education, Health Care Provision, Roads and Infrastructural development and ecological and environmental Interventions.

He also promised Youths inclusiveness and empowerment, Agricultural Support/ Development,  Access to opportunities, Wealth Creation with particular interest on the individual families.

Awogu who received the new party members, lauded them for their option to join APGA party.

He said:” Those who suffer  with us, enjoys with us. What we need is commitment and efforts for us to enjoy together.”

While Awogu urged them to obtain party cards in their respective wards, he presented APGA Clothes to their leader, Comrade John Paul Adimali.

The event attracted the presence of APGA State Assembly aspirants both Ogbaru Constituency 1 &2, stakeholders from 16 wards of Ogbaru Federal constituency, leader of Soludo 12 Apostle and Prince Neville Uchendu among many others.
