Osun APC Backs Payment of Monarchs’ Arrears

The Osun APC has defended the payment of overdue salaries to traditional rulers, following criticism from the State Assembly Speaker.

The party said reinstated local government chairmen acted legally and in line with welfare obligations, citing court rulings affirming council autonomy. ALGON chairman Samuel Idowu stressed monarchs’ entitlements should not be politicised, and councils would not subject them to “avoidable hardship or harassment.”
