Onitsha Country Club Celebrates End Of The Year Party …Honours Onunkwo, Orji For Their Exceptional Commitment, Development Of The Club

The Onitsha Country Club Fegge, in Onitsha South Local Government Area, Anambra State on 21st Dec. honoured the Chairman, Seahorse Lubricants West Africa, His Royal Majesty, Dr Ebuka Onunkwo and Mr Ndubuisi Orji, the Chairman Rhondis Industries Ltd for their exceptional commitment to the growth and development of the club.

Reacting to the award bestowed on him at Onitsha Country Club which was the venue for the event, Dr Onunkwo who was overwhelmed on the honour given to him, stated that he never expected such.

Dr Onunkwo who was ably represented by Sir Ignatius Nnubia (Anya of Ihembosi) emphasized on generosity, philanthropic and charitable with ones resources, saying that God blesses people for them to bless others.

He pointed out that his humanitarian services are numerous which he said are done for God and humanity. He encourages everyone to extend hand of fellowship to others.

Dr Onunkwo also commended the President of the club, Chief Anietonwa Kingsley Ajulufo, (Dim Nwawelugo) for his doggedness, resilience, selfless services for humanity and for the progress of the club.

He urged the members of the club to always pray for him the President saying that he is dedicated, empathetic and understandable. He described his tenure as a remarkable one, adding that being a leader is not by being powerful but gift from God.

In his words while reacting also on the award bestowed on him, Mr Orji stated that all his humanitarian services read in the citation were done out of love and not for recognition, adding that they were done as a way of giving back to the society.

He also stated that being where there is progress has always been his habit. He described the award as the least he expected, pointing out that it will spur him to do more.

Earlier in his opening prayer, Chief Sir Dennis Muoemenam, a member of the club, thanked God for all he did for them throughout the year, especially losing no member of the club. He also committed the ongoing tennis academy 300 capacity pavilion construction project into the hands of God.

In his opening remarks, Ajulufo thanked God for a wonderful day and no losing of life among club members, recounted visible improvement the club has made in this year.

He recalled how raising the fund for the construction of the pavilion has been a very big task to them after demolition of the old building but he thanked God who according to him, rose to the throne and today the new building is now on decken level.

His Majesty, Dr Nwankwo also used the opportunity to invite the sports club for a Seahorse tennis tournament in his house by 1st quarter of 2026.

The event which started with an annual thanksgiving service at St John Anglican church fegge, Onitsha witnessed sharing of gifts among the wives of club members as well as children’s party where kids had fun and received gifts as well.
