A top Anglican cleric says Nigerians, including the women folks, can only enjoy the fruits of their labour in they sincerely work hard.

Rev. Canon Charles Chukwurah, the Vicar in charge of St. Stephen’s Parish, hosts of the 37th Anglican Diocesan Women’s Conference (ADWOC), said people will only enjoy the fruits of their labour if they work in the right direction of life.

He said that dishonest people in their dealings as recorded in the bible cannot receive good fruits from God.

He was speaking in a homily at the conference, attended by a record 850 women drawn from across Anambra state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the Diocesan women conference is an annual programme of the Anglican communion.

This year’s programme will run from June 22 to June 25 at St Stephen’s Parish, in Ifitedunu community, Dunkofia Local Government Area of Anambra.

NAN reports that the conference is the Church’s second Women’s Guild conference with the theme “You Shall Eat The Fruit of Your Labour”, according to Psalm 128, verse 2.

“In our world of today, it is only those who work creditably that will reap good fruits,” Rev. Canon Chukwurah said.

”I encourage all brethren to work to earn God’s blessings and serve humanity without gain but in fear of God for lasting blessings,” he said.

Declaring the conference open, the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Doicese, His Grace, The Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, urged the delegates to come out with great ideas that will grow the Doicese higher in spirituality and physcial development.
