Odinammadu joins race for Ezeokpoko II of Oba

…promises to embark on intra-roads projects and human empowerment

One of the illustrious sons of Oba and a royal cabinet member, Chief Samuel Odinammadu, Ikeora Oba has joined the race for the vacant royal stool-EzeOkpoko II of Oba.

He was at the Civic Center, Oba in Idemili South to pick a form thereby officially making his intention known to the Oba Patriotic Union (OPU) and the entire community.

Odinammadu, popularly known as Ikeora Oba and one of the youngest contestants from Okuzu-Umuezeokpala village promised to embark on intensive road projects and foster unity and peace in the community.

“Today I, my relatives and friends are here to accompany me to pick the EzeOkpoko II of Oba form as one of the contestants.

“I have been working in the interest of Oba even while our late Igwe Ezenwa of his blessed memory as his youngest cabinet Chief was alive and I will continue to do more.

“I have already awarded the complete construction/tarring of Onwuamegbu road and promises to rally my friends to ensure tarring of all Oba community major roads starting from the much politicized Aforuzo road.

“I will ensure peace, unity, Youth/women empowerment and development just as I have been doing in Okuzu-Umuezeokpala my own village,” said Odinammadu.

His wife, Mrs Chineze Odinammadu pleaded with Oba people to endorse Ikeora Oba saying that he carries people along and would transform Oba into an industrial city to create employment opportunities.

According to Secretary General Emeritus OPU, Ide Goddy Ezeh, I salute the courage of my brother Ikeora Oba to join the Igweship race and He has all the qualifications cum qualities befitting a king.

“He is a young man with a good heart, Ikeora Oba has given scholarships and empowered many youths, he is sociable and loves development and these are qualities we need in a traditional ruler.

“I pray that any of my brothers who wins the Igweship should be wise, accommodative and visionary to attract development and ensure we get our fair share from the committee of nations,” said Ezeh.

The Chairman, Okuzu-Umuezeokpala Elders forum, Ogbuefi John Ezeh described Ikeora Oba as a peace broker who brought peace between the different factions in our community who wanted autonomy from Oba:”He is not proud”.

The General Secretary Nze na Ozo Soceity, Oba. Nze Dennis Mozie said: I knew him since 1992. The title’ Ikeora Oba’ was given to him by the late monarch because of his philanthropy.

He donates towards any vision that could bring progress. His philanthropy outside Oba community earned him the ‘Mmilioma’ of Abagana.

He is financially able, although Oba donated towards establishing a central palace of which he is one of the donors but Ikeora Oba is already building a magnificent palace,” said Mozie.

Moreso, a Youth spokesperson, Izuchukwu Okoye said that Odinammadu had established many youths in business and one of the major sponsors of the ultramodern Okuzu Town Hall and can do more for Oba.

The President General Ojoto, High Chief Donatus Anozie said: “Oba is my father’s maternal home and I am here to support my friend Odinammadu, Ikeora Oba.

“It is God that makes King. Ikeora is a leader not a ruler. Oba needs a leader who will lead them not a ruler who is a dictator”, said Anozie.

Meanwhile, the PG OPU, Rev. Chris Emelie advised people to desist from addressing contestants as Igwe EzeOkpoko II adding that official general campaign has not begun.

“General campaign has not begun. This stage is the period for interested candidates to pick EzeOkpoko II forms although they can seek the support of their kindreds and immediate villages,” he said. (MOI)
