Oba community mourn tragic death of PG’s daughter

Oba people both at home and in Diaspora have continued to commiserate with the President General(PG), Oba Patriotic Union (OPU), Rev. Chris Emelie who lost his young daughter in a domestic cooking gas incident.

The promising young girl of 28, Late Esther Emelie whose traditional marriage was slated to hold by December was buried in her father’s compound at Oba, Idemili South amidst tears and condolences.

In a speech presented to OPU Abuja branch during the Launching of the Oba Central palace project Appeal fund , Regent of Oba, Prince Noel Ezenwa prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the deceased.

“Our PG lost his daughter in a domestic gas inferno. The young girl was of great service to us while the fund raising committee visited Lagos.

“Let us stand briefly to observe few minutes silence in her memory. May her young gentle soul rest in peace in the eternal bosom of the Lord,” said Prince Ezenwa.

In his sermon during the burial at Oba, the General Superintendent, One Foundation Gospel Mission Inc., Rev. Chris Amaubochi emphasized that it is not unusual for the righteous to suffer temptations.

The clergy who preached from the book of Job encouraged Christians to count it all joy when they suffer temptations and remain focused in seeking the kingdom of God and its righteousness.

Moreover, Former Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Anyaenetu commiserating with the family to take heart said that nobody determines when to come or depart except God.

Also, the PG of Obosi who represented the Anambra State Association of Towns Unions, ASATU Idemili North, Engr. Iyke Okoro was also present in the company of several Presidents General to commiserate with their colleague.

“Death is more powerful than man. We thank God for everything. Rev Emelie as a preacher should not cry as one without hope. God should give them the fortitude to bear this loss,”said Okoro.

According to Nze Ifeanyichukwu Onwupenata, Ogbataonua Oba, It is a pity such tragedy befell our PG but God knows the best. God should add the remaining years the deceased would have lived to prolong the years of the berieved.

“The death is not acceptable but in all things thanks be to God. I pray that God should add the number of years the girl should have lived to PG and his family members, comfort them and fill the vacuum she left behind”, said Onwupenata.
Chairman, Land Committee, Nze Ebelenna Ibeachum said: “We are shocked and dumbfounded about the death of PG’s daughter. It is not only his loss but all of us. Let God console us”.

Secretary,Nze na Ozo soceity,Oba, Nze Dennis Mozie eulogized the administrative qualities of the PG lamentedq that death snatched young Esther before the father could enjoy his investments in her.

Meanwhile, Chief Godwin Ezepue(Ezeudo Oba,q had been a victim when my child died at age 33. It is so painful for a parent to bury his child. Only God can console the person”.

Other dignitaries at the burial include, the Regent and members of EzeOkpoko in council, Administrator, The Most Qualified in Oba platform, Prince Praise Ejikeme, Chairman Umuokokpa village, Chief Solomon Madunagu, Comrade Osita Maduekwe.

They all prayed that such an ugly incident does not repeat adding that only good news will be heard from Rev. Emelie’s Family.

However, Mrs Chiugo Ezeadi nee Emelie, Daniel and David Emelie all siblings of the deceased said they were too fond of their sister to forget her in a hurry describing Esther as unique, industrious, accommodating and willing to help.

The chief mourner, Rev Emelie thanked Oba people at home and in Diaspora for rallying around him and for supportingw him in his period of mourning thanking God for his merciesr upon his household.
