Nzuko-Ora Nnewi presents 3 point agenda – Isaac Ojo
The President General (PG) of Nnewi town union also known as Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Dr Maduka Atuenyi has presented a three point agenda as top priority for his administration.
Dr Atuenyi and his executive council last weekend played host to media practitioners in the industrial town of Nnewi.
He pointed out that his administration is passionately committed to pursuing agenda that are top priority to the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Dr KON Orizu 111.
Top on the agenda is to give the cosmopolitan town a befiting town hall that everyone would be proud of.
He however noted that the executive council predeceding his has actually started work on the town hall and that the project would be completed under his watch.
Dr Atuenyi who is also the coordinator of Anambra Vigilant Group (AVG) in Anambra South senatorial zone said that his administration has constituted a committee that would work toward getting a cemetery for the industrial town.
“Nnewi is now a cosmopolitan, the current urban nature of the town has made it incumbent for us to get a cemetery where visitors to the town can bury their dead. Most of the times, when the foreigners in our midst lost their loved ones, they always run to Igwe to get a place for them, but once we are able to have a cemetery in place, they can easily bury their dead ones there. We are actually looking toward having between fifteen to thirty plots of land for this project.” He said.
Dr Atuenyi also listed an ultra modern stadium where youths can gather and develop their God given talents as one of his priorities noting that it is beffitting that Nnewi should have a stadium of her own.
The Anambra South coordinator of Anambra Vigilant Group flanked by some of his executives assured of the commitment of administration to sustain the security atmosphere of the industrial town.
“My responsibility as the Anambra South coordinator for AVG is in no way affecting my performance as PG, I have a wonderful team of executive and of course there is division of labor in my adminstration.” Dr Atuenyi stressed.
He also expressed his preparedness to liaize with the Nnewi North Local Government officials to decongest certain parts of the town.
