Healthcare is not only about having one big hospital in a major city. It is also about ensuring that ordinary people can access quality healthcare within their communities.

This broader understanding informed 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗢𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗵’𝘀 interventions in Anambra North.

Before the formal upgrade of Onitsha General Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre, documented records showed the renovation of several primary healthcare facilities and staff quarters across the seven local government areas of Anambra North. Facilities in communities including Umunankwo, Okpoko and Ogbakuba in Ogbaru were among those reported to have benefited.

The importance of these interventions is clear.

A healthcare facility can only serve its purpose when it is functional, accessible and conducive for both patients and healthcare workers. Renovating neglected facilities therefore goes beyond physical construction; it is an investment in the dignity and wellbeing of the people.

This was the thinking behind Senator Oduah’s approach: strengthen healthcare from the grassroots while simultaneously pursuing a stronger federal institution for specialised care.

From primary healthcare facilities in communities to the transformation of Onitsha General Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre, the vision was not about one hospital. It was about building a connected healthcare system for Anambra North.

One would ask, Why her Candidacy matters.

As 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗢𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗵 seeks to return to the Senate for the good people of Anambra North under All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the question before voters should be simple:

Who has the experience, legislative understanding and proven record to effectively represent the interests of Anambra North at the National Assembly?

Her healthcare interventions and many numerous others provide part of the answer.

Representation should not begin and end with campaign promises. It should be measured by the ability to identify the needs of the people, translate those needs into legislative action and pursue outcomes that remain useful long after a tenure has ended.

Anambra North needs a Senator who understands that infrastructure is not merely about buildings and statistics. Infrastructure is about people.

A renovated health centre means care closer to home.

A better-equipped hospital means improved access to specialised treatment.

A stronger healthcare institution means more opportunities for healthcare workers and better services for families.

Under APGA, her candidacy represents an opportunity to demand representation that is focuses on results, development and the everyday needs of the people.

Anambra North deserves representation that works.
