NSCDC advises parents on how best to bring up their wards

The Corps Commandant (CC) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun Command, Mr David Ojelabi, has admonished parents and guardians to always monitor the activities of their wards to prevent them from being initiated into cultism and other criminalities.

Ojelabi advised in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Abeokuta, on Saturday.

He condemned parents who give priority attention to other things at the detriment of the well-being of their children, saying the lapse offers the opportunity to recruit wards into bad gangs

The Commandant implored parents to always pray for the peace and progress of their wards and the country as a whole.

He further encouraged parents to always engage their children on lawful activities during holidays.

“Long holidays is the time to engage children on skills acquisition,” he said.

The NSCDC boss noted that government and parents must spare no cost to ensure that the wards are well educated.

“We must endeavor to bring up our wards according to the high value of the African system with self confidence to face the future.

“They must make the country better that they met it,” he said .

The Commandant implored parents to always pray for the peace and progress of their wards and the country as a whole.

Ojelabi reaffirmed the command’s relentless efforts to rid the state of cultism and other criminalities.

He assured of maximum security of lives and properties of residents in the state. (NAN)
