The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) have advised Nigerians in South Africa to close their shops and remain indoors following fresh xenophobic attacks.

The vi0lence, reportedly triggered by tensions over a controversial community leadership issue, has led to looting of Nigerian-owned businesses and injuri£s in affected areas. NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, urged Nigerians to stay vigilant while authorities work to restore order.

The Nigerian High Commission is monitoring the situation and engaging South African officials to ensure citizens’ safety.
