1. Fake News Alert: President Buhari To Embark On 20-Day Trip To UK

The presidency has warned Nigerians against the rising cases of fake news in the country, urging them to always confirm news sources, particularly on social media.

This it said as it disclosed that ‘purveyors of fake news’ are now blatantly unrepentant in pushing fake news into circulation.

2. Court Orders Arrest Of Ex-Customs Boss, Dikko

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the arrest of former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Inde Dikko.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) had charged him for fraud alongside two others.

3. Court Stops INEC From Deregistering 31 Political Parties

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from deregistering 31 political parties.

According to the report which was made known to newsmen on Monday, the presiding judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice Anwuli Chikere, noted that INEC has failed to oppose the application by the applicants, the affected political parties had the legal right which must be protected.

4. Protesters Storm APC Secretariat In Abuja, Demand Oshiomhole’s Sack

Protesters on Monday stormed the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday, demanding the resignation of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party.

The protesters, bearing placards with various inscriptions, said Oshiomhole has plunged the party into many crises since he emerged as its National Chairman.

5. PDP Mocks Buhari Over Attempt To Bar Protest In Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mocked the Nigerian Presidency over jittery move to stop a massive protest against the ruling government and the clueless service chiefs.

Odogwublog understands that the PDP said this in reaction to a presidential statement, that the opposition was sponsoring protests against President Muhammadu Buhari and the service chiefs.

The spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has denied making any fresh prophecy about the Bayelsa governorship tussle.

This is coming in response to claims on social media and some sections of the media over the weekend that Father Mbaka had prophesied that Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would not last beyond two months as the Governor of Bayelsa State.

7. Osun State Government Breaks Silence On Fight Between Oluwo And Agbowu

The government of Osun state has reacted to the scuffle between two of its traditional rulers, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi and Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo.

The State government’s reaction is contained in a statement released on Monday by the State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode who expressed the disappointment of the government on the matter.

The Federal Government has promised to empower 35 creative firms with N7 billion in order to enhance the growth of the industry.
