NEF Lauds ACP Eleme over evacuation of accident victims

Ndigbo Elders’Forum (NEF) has lauded Assistant Commissioner of Poliice (ACP) Eleme, for rescuing some accident victims on his way back to Abuja recently.

Speaking when the group paid him courtesy visit in Abuja, the president of NEF, Dede Uzor A Uzor, said the officer was returning to Abuja when he met some accident victims on the way.

He said the ghastly motor accident claimed the lives of three persons, while others sustained various degrees of injuries.

ACP Eleme, he said, was said to have taken those who sustained injuries to hospital for medical treatment as well as paid for the bills.

This singular action, said Dede Uzor, showed the humanitarian disposition of ACP Eleme, who is the Commander of Inspector- General of Police Monitoring Units (IGP), urging him to continue with this display of love to humanity.

The group asked other officers to take a cue from him by showing human kindness even while discharging their professional and official duties.

Dede Uzor said due to this singular effort, NEF has tipped ACP Eleme for their Human rights award later this year.

The group told the ACP to disregard some faceless individuals who sent spurious petition against him for releasing a suspect.

“You should take that as one of those sacrifices he must make for the service of his country.

We urge you to continue to do your best for your country and humanity” said the Chairman of NEF.

He said their visit was also to commend him for his proactive disposition and professionalism with mature disposition on handling public issues.

In his response, ACP Eleme thanked the members of the forum for taking care of time to visit him in his office.

He also thanked them for the little gesture he did to accident victims, saying that if given the opportunity, he would continue to do more, assuring that he would do justice to all manner of people irrespective class, religion and ethnic origin,he advised.
