NAWFIA 2024: 26th Annual Awka Diocesan AYF Bible Study Conference, A call For Youths to Stand Firm

The 26th Awka Diocesan Anglican youth Bible study conference, which attracted young people, mainly members of the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) from various archdeaconries in the diocese, was an event of great significance and considered a resounding success, judging from the numerous achievements throughout the event.
The four-day conference, which concluded on Sunday, July 28th, 2024, brought together leaders and dignitaries from diverse backgrounds who are supporters and contributors to the well-being and development of the youth through various means.
The event included several highlights, such as the spiritual guidance and encouragement delivered in the sermon aligned with the conference theme, ‘Stand Firm And Take Action,’ derived from Daniel 11:32b. During his sermon, the diocesan chaplain, Rev. Canon Nnamdi Ajaoku, urged the young participants to put on the whole armor of God and stand firm in their faith. He highlighted that many youths are inactive and need to take necessary action.
A key moment of the event was the recognition and presentation of awards to individuals who have positively impacted youths in various ways, as well as the awarding of trophies to archdeaconries that excelled in the Bible quiz contest through their youth representatives in different categories. Recipients of the awards included Comrade Ibechukwu Ochuba, CEO of Ibukris Farm, Bro. Chuma Okafor, immediate past president of the Awka Diocesan Youth Council, Mr. Nwokike Uchechukwu, Director of Naira Rice, and others.
Mr. Okoye Chinaza, President of the Awka Diocesan Youth Council, expressed immense joy over the successful Bible study conference and extended gratitude to fellow members of the Anglican Youth Fellowship at all levels for their contributions to the event’s success. He also thanked the awardees for their dedication to youth development and encouraged them to continue their exemplary work. The clergy and congregation members of St. Michael’s and All Angels were also acknowledged for their support and contributions to the event’s success.
Ven. Onyinyechukwu Ilione, Archdeacon of Nawfia Archdeaconry and presiding priest of St. Michael’s and All Angels Nawfia, praised Mr. Okoye Chinaza and his team for their commitment and perseverance in achieving success. He urged the congregation to pray for and bless the President and his team, asking for continued wisdom and strength from God in their leadership of the fellowship.
