Mogul Hands Over Multimillion Naira Station To Anambra State Police Command At Ozubulu

The call for a Public, public-private community Partnership by Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to yield positive outcomes.

Apart from building roads, markets and other infrastructure in various communities by individuals, security received a boost from an individual who built a multimillion-naira police station in Ozubulu Police Division and handed it over to the Anambra state Police command

the station housing offices and other spaces needed by the police officers serving in the division to work efficiently was built single handedly by the Chairman and Founder, Ebubechukwuzo Foundation, Chief Alloysuis Ikegwuonu.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Pauly Onyeka said that this was in response to his call for Ndi Anambra to join hands with his government in developing the state as according to him, Government alone cannot do it.

Governor Soludo highlighted various projects carried out by Ndi Ozubulu, including over two kilometers of road and lock up shops, and now a police station, calling on other communities to emulate them.

Commissioning the edifice, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra state, Mr Aderemi Adeoye who described the building as gigantic and up to standard, urged the Ozubulu police division which covers Ozubulu and Ihembosi communities to ensure security of life and property of the people in the area and to ensure that innocent people are not detained there.

While appreciating the benefactor, Mr Adeoye recalled that he was at the community earlier in the year to commission a security post for vigilante operatives in the community built by Ozubulu Unique club, noting that it goes a long way to show that they care for one another and pledged the commitment of men of the command towards safeguarding Ozubulu and environs.

The benefactor, Chief Ikegwuonu recalled that the station was vandalized during the EndSARS protest in 2020 and he decided to build a new station for the division having noticed that after rehabilitating the old building, it was no longer befitting for them.

Chief Ikegwuonu added that all he is doing is for the interest of humanity and prayed God to give him the grace to continue in that trajectory for the good of mankind, even as he commended the commissioner of police for boosting the security architecture of the state and for always responding whenever he is called upon.

The Transition Committee Chairman for Ekwusigo Council Area, Mr Chimezie Obi, on his part, said that Chief Ikegwuonu is a God sent to the council area, and Ozubulu in particular, noting that he has done a lot for them in that area in terms of development and job creation, urging him not to relent.

The President General of Ozubulu community, Engineer Chris Ononuju, earlier in an address, extolled Chief Ikegwuonu for his untiring efforts in bringing all round development to the community and thanked other members of the community who are toeing the same part that made Ozubulu to stand out.

Also, the Chairman of Ebubechukwuzo Foundation, Ozubulu, Sir Emeka Ofomata represented by Mr Chinedu Okwuzuluigbo went down memory lane on how they were called upon by management of the station when it was attacked after the 2020 EndSARS protest and how they briefed the founder of the Foundation, Chief Ikegwuonu who instructed them to move in and save the situation, praying God to continue to bless him.

The Traditional Ruler of Ozubulu, Igwe Nnamdi Oruche also attended the event.
