Iran women’s football team arrives in Turkey after dropping asylum bids
Iran’s women’s national football team arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday after several members withdrew their asylum requests in Australia.
The players, who left Australia amid backlash for refusing to sing the national anthem at the Women’s Asian Cup, will return to Iran on Wednesday. Only two members remain in Australia.
