I don’t believe in Igbo Presidency – Orji Uzor

Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, All Progressives Congress, APC, Abia North has taken a jab at those who have already announced to contest as President of the country ahead of 2023 general and Presidential elections, saying those persons are not outstanding. 

The former governor of Abia state has stated that he does not believe in an Igbo presidency, but rather in a Nigerian President of Igbo descent, as well as declaring that if the presidency is zoned to the country’s South East geopolitical zone, he has everything it takes to compete for the highest office in the land.

Ahead of the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Convention on February 26, a group calling itself the South-South Emerging Leaders’ Forum (SELF) has urged party stakeholders and leaders not to elect as National Chairman some former governors and individuals who have been indicted for financial crimes by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and other anti-graft agencies.

According to the group, it will be out of place for the APC to elect as National Chairman who will be the head of the National Working Committee, NWC a person who is being indicted by the EFCC and others.
