The Human Rights,Liberty Access and Peace Defenders’ Foundation ( HURIDE) has commended the proactiveness of Commissioners of Police of Lagos State, Zubairu Muazu and his Anambra State counterpart, John Abang,to commence operations immediately after the #End SARS protest.

The group in a statement in FCT Abuja weekend signed by its Executive Director, Dede Uzor A Uzor, said the duo of Muazu and Abang to the best of their knowledge were the first Commissioners of Police to commence operations in their States when others were still dragging their feet due to aftermath and traumatic experiences and destruction of Police properties including killing of officers throughout the country.

They said their early commencement of operations reduced the crime situations in the two States, where criminals were already plotting to have a field day, saying that their commitment showed their strong concern for the security of lives and property of the citizens of their respective States.

HURIDE urged the two security chiefs to continue to improve the security of their respective States especially during this Yuletide but warned that they should prevail upon their rank and file to respect the fundamental rights of the citizens not to attract bad image for the police.

The Human right body challenged other Commissioners of Police in various States in the country to emulate the duo of Muazu and Abang so as to ensure peace and crime free Yuletide in their respective States.
