Hon. Emeka Aforka provides massive palliatives to Orumba North Constituency

HON. EMEKA AFORKA PROVIDES MASSIVE PALLIATIVES TO ORUMBA NORTH CONSTITUENCY; SICKLE CELL GROUP AMONG BENEFICIARIES.

In what appears to be an unprecedented act of goodwill in the history of Orumba North Constituency, The Deputy Majority Leader; Chairman House Committee on Petitions, and Member Representing Orumba North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Aforka, donated palliatives to thousands of his constituents, among whom were various underprivileged persons and groups, including the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, APLSCD.

Hon. Aforka’s country home at Ndiowu community was a beehive of activities as early as 7 am on the 9th of May. Both old and young, men and women, with people with various forms of disabilities thronged his palatial mansion to receive some palliatives in order to cushion the ugly economic challenges brought by the covid-19 pandemic.

Hon. Emeka Aforka’s voice in the legislative assembly is for the people, especially the downtrodden. He is versed in popular and people oriented policies, a good reason he was appointed as the house committee chairman on petitions. He has won the confidence of his constituents and party faithfuls, including the political class of Anambra State.

A political desideratum clothed in the garb of humility, cheerfulness and charisma, he has brought a purposeful representation which has been set as a yardstick for others to follow.

Hon. Emeka Aforka in company of his amiable wife, some APGA party faithfuls, and medical team, visit the Vocational Center and Office of the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, APLSCD, to donate some palliatives to the Association.

The astute lawmaker was filled with kindness and soft words as he encouraged persons living with sickle cell disease to adapt a positive outlook always, irrespective of their health challenges. He said that the drugs brought along with other food items was as a result of the expert advice from his medical team. A medical practitioner from UNTH Enugu who accompanied his entourage, took his time to dish out tips on how anemic persons can manage their health effectively. Other speakers at the event includes the Acting Chairman of APGA for Orumba North, Pharm. Muogbo, who highlighted the State Government commitments towards persons with vulnerability.

In her response, the National Coordinator, Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, APLSCD, Mrs Aisha Edward, extolled the magnanimity of Hon. Aforka, while cherishing the sense of belonging accorded to her group. Mrs Edward was optimistic that the items, especially the beverages and drugs will significantly improve the health of her members.

The items includes cartons of Noddles, bags of rice, beverages, cartons of fruit juice, hand sanitizers, face masks, while the drugs includes, antimalarials, antiinflammatory, analgesic, folic acid etc.

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of the Sickle Cell Law 2019, as published by Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor, Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, to Hon. Emeka Aforka by Mrs Aisha Edward.
