Addressing the press in Onitsha yesterday, the chairman BOT of the rights group, Dede Uzor A, Uzor, said the visits have slowed down the pace of governance in the State.

He said the absence of the governor has created insecurity in the State which has resulted in the brutal murder of Nimo President General in Njikoka Local Government Area of the State, Chief Anthony Igboka and the alleged muder of about seven farmers in Ansmbra West by Fulani Herdsmen some weeks back.

“There is generally insecurity in the State.Criminals have returned back in full force to Anambra State. They now use shuttle buses and Keke to rob people” said Dede Uzor who is also the National Publicly secretary Campaign for Democracy (CD).

He also said the Governor’s frequent visits abroad, has taken a lull in pace of infrastructural development of the State, lamenting that most of the roads in the commercial town have gone bad without government given them due attention .

He called on Governor Obiano to address Onitsha township roads and environs such as Akpaka Forest road to Nsugbe, dualise 33-to Otuocha, build a link bridge between GRA Onitsha and 33.

Dede also said Okpoko, Oba, Idemili, Ogbaru should be given a facelift, saying “he should declare a state of emergency on the entire Ogbaru road”.
The activist suggested that the articulated and long vehicles should not be allowed to enter into Onitsha during the day to reduce congestion in the city, rather they should be limited to night alone.

He said the ultra-modern park bulit near Obodo-Ukwu road should be used to accommodate big vehices coming into Onitsha during the day.

Dede equally asked Obiano to immediately lift ban placed on the use of two stadia in Onitsha during the campaign, stressing that the closue has affected the youths in the town who don’t have any other place to express themselves.
