Following the recent press release signed by Idigo Elders Ruling Council, accusing Governor Willie Obiano, who happens to hail from the same community of abominable acts which include imposing a monarch on the community contrary to the will of the people, the state government has called for a total disregard of the accusation insisting that Governor Obiano has violated no law.

It would be recalled that following the death of Eze Christopher Nwabunwanne Idigo, the former traditional ruler of Aguleri on January, 11, 2019, there was an installation ceremony in the community during which Dr Michael Idigo was installed as the Eze Idigo V of Aguleri.

However, the release signed by Prince Fide Idigo, Prince Michael Idigo and Prince Gabriel Idigo on behalf of the Idigo Elders Ruling Council denounced the coronation ceremony as a charade while alleging that Governor Obiano through his Chief of Staff, Mr Primus Odili, turned down the Idigo family’s choice Crown prince and imposed his own choice candidate, Dr Michael Idigo as the monarch. They also discredited the coronation rites performed saying that it fell short of the traditional requirements.
