Governor Uzodimma, Okorocha, others urged to support world class library, computer centre project in Imo

A Nigerian-American based Philanthropist, Dr. Felicia Ibezim has called on the Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Senator representing Imo West at the National Assembly, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Amaigbo-USA and other people of goodwill to lend their support in erecting a world class solar powered library and computer centre located at Umuchioke, Amaigbo in Nwangele local government Area of Imo state.
Dr. Felicia, who is the Executive Director, Social Conscience Foundation disclosed that the three charity projects: the widow project, feed the hungry project and the library and computer centre project which she is executing simultaneously were aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society.
She informed that the modern Library and computer centre, when completed will launch the entire Amaigbo community into the world of technology and also give the youths in the village an opportunity to compete favourably in the digital world, adding that the Amaigbo people resident in US, Europe and other parts of the world will utilise the solar powered centre to transact business and connect to family and friends around the world.
On what she has done so far on the project, she said: “I have been using my personal funds to fund the three charity projects.
” The most immediate now is the Library and and computer centre. I earlier planned to finish the building, equip it with desktop computers, laptops and other facilities before telling the community but my pocket is running dry.
“So far, I purchased two plots of land in the village, completed fencing and plastering of the fence, the Library and computer centre has been built from DPC to roofing level and has also been plastered, partial plumbing has been done, condiut electrical piping has been done and some solar materials procured, according to the Engineer.
” What remains now are doors and windows, full electrification and fitting, full plumbing and soak-away construction, tiling and flooring.
“We also need desktop computers, copiers, printers, and other office and library materials such as chairs and tables, books, magazines and journals, stationeries and many other items.
” I have really spent millions of naira on the project and my personal income is running low and that is why I am appealing for assistance from all of you to continue the project that I consider useful for community development.
