Gov. Okpebholo Retains Obaseki’s Policy of Automatic Employment for First-Class Graduates
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has upheld the policy introduced by former Governor Godwin Obaseki, which offers automatic employment to indigenes of the state who graduate with first-class degrees from any university, both in Nigeria and abroad. The governor also maintained the payment of a 13th-month salary for state workers. Additionally, he expanded the policy to include graduates from 2020 onwards. The initiative is part of the Graduate Development Programme (GDP) aimed at attracting and retaining top talent in the state’s civil service to improve efficiency and service delivery.
