A social crusader, Mr Musa Aliyu, has called on governments at all levels to end hu ger and poverty in Nigeria.

Aliyu made the appeal in an I terview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ilorin.

He decried hunger and galloping inflation in the country, urging the Federal Government to address the issues.

Aliyu, who is the Director, Media Advocacy and Technologies Center in Ilorin, declared that the problem of Nigeria has to do with hunger as many people are dying of hunger and insecurity daily.

“Several people are dying because of hunger. There are many communities you dare not pass through these days in Nigeria.

“There are many rural areas that people have practically abandoned their ancestral homes due to the banditry,” he said.

“When you look at it critically, the main problem affecting Nigeria now has to do with banditry as well as the issue of insecurity, killings and kidnappings in every nook and cranny, particularly in the northern part of this country.

“The last report we had, has it that there were more than 35 people that were murdered in their sleep in various parts of Kaduna State.

“So we expect in time like this, particularly from the President to serve as turning point on how do we find solution to this madness,” according to him.

The social crusader also decried the galloping inflation in the country, saying: “The last time we bought gas for 12kg was N7,000, we don’t know how much it will cost now. Many houses cannot afford three meals daily.

“These are the areas that call for serious national sober reflection, so we expect Mr President to dwell seriously on these cogent things that require urgent attention,” Aliyu added. (NAN)
