Okwenna said his resolution stem from his burning desire to provide a leadership through innovations that would engender growth and development of industries for job and wealth creation in Anambra state.
The former aide who is contesting the 2021 governorship elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he has developed a 5-point development agenda with about 26 enablers covering all the sectors of the state economy.
He said that his aspiration to govern Anambra is anchored on five major objectives which includes making Anambra a destination for youths, to make the state the leading centre for commerce and industry , make Anambra the leading centre for innovation and entrepreneurship development, create a system where governnent really cares for the citizens and create our own narratives.
These five cardinal objectives would be further categorised into 26 thematic areas of development to include ICT and Digital Transformation Plan, Education Development Plan, Health Services Development Plan, Agriculture and Food Security Plan, industrialisation plan, transportation plan, road infrastructure plan, business and market management development plan, environmental protection plan, flood management plan, solid waste management plan, erosion control and climate change management plan, affordable housing development plan, urban development and renewal plan, land administration and management plan, rural development and sanitation plan, culture and tourism plan, oil and gas plan, security plan, amongst others.
According to him, the development objective would be for Anambra state to attain economic prosperity through comprehensive and integrated development of all sectors and all parts of the state, adding that the strategic plan of development shall be called Comprehensive and Integrated Development of Anambra State.
He said that the aforementioned development strategy shall be anchored on the principles of Sustainable Development Goals which would succeed Anambra State Integrated Development Strategy propounded by Ex-Governor Peter Obi.
Okwenna therefore assured citizens that as governor, he would guarantee social cohesion, create equal opportunities for all citizens as well as replace nepotism with meritocracy even as he promised to be transparent and accountable to the people.
