Umunbo is one of the agrarian communities that is known for their interest in farming activities especially rice, cassava and other crops.

Chief Willie Obiano is a savior as his administration has done a lot to Umunbo people. The first time we are seeing tarred road is entering our town was courtesy of the present government . Apart from traveling to Abuja without government approval , Our Igwe has been involved in a lot of issues and he is no longer fit to continue as our traditional ruler. “

Another resident , Chief Hyncenth Agbata appealed to the state government to do the needful to ensure that peace is sustained in the area.

“Our traditional Ruler is not after our interest, all he seeks is for himself. We had issues with Omor community, up till now he never asked us what happened. We are pleading with the governor to please remove him as our Igwe. “

On his part, Mr Basil Okeke narrated that though the community was lagging behind in terms of development , the suspension of the traditional rulers was a right step in the right direction.

” the governor gave me suspension, you have not even waited for it to last and you are saying you want me removed? is that not laughable? As a member of the state Committee on Cattle menace i was doing what i should do which is bringing peace and ensuring that my people and the headsmen co exist peacefully. I cant challenge government on land use act, how can they say i am selling land to the same government it belongs to, that is not proper. “

He therefore called on the people to remain calm and peaceful as they continue to go about their farming activities.
