Delta Police Bust Suspected Criminal Hideout, Recover AK-47 and Beretta Pistol
The Delta state police command has recovered 1 AK 47 rifle, 6 rounds of live ammunition and 1 Bretta Pistol in a bush near the customs check point, along Benin-Asaba Expressway.
The operation was led by the state assistant commissioner of police who mobilised operatives of Buffalo, Crack and operation Delta shield squad based on a credible intelligence notice, received on 2nd of My 2026 by 8:35am.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the pursuit of criminal elements, and that investigations are ongoing to arrest suspects who the recovered weapons could belong to.
He also urged residents to monitor, and report suspicious persons or movement in their environment to the Police, while assuring them that their identities will be withheld from the public.
