Decentralization of police now necessary for fight against insecurity– Bishop Ikeakor
The Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, the Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor has called for establishment of regional and state Police as the only way to nip the insecurity bedeviling the nation in the bud.
Right Reverend Ikeakor made the call while delivering his presidential address during the Second Session of the Fifth Synod of the Diocese held at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Umudim Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra state.
.According to the Bishop who expressed utmost dismay at the frightening level of insecurity in the country, decentralization of the police has become necessary to deal with criminal activities from the grassroots.
The Synod with the theme: “Strangers and Pilgrims In The World: Our Christian Status” was well attended by dignitaries drawn from all walks of life.
It started on Wednesday 2nd and ended on Sunday 5th of June 2022.
