Council Boss, Ohaneze Youth sue for peace as Oba Youths elects new executive

The Idemili South Local Government Area (ISLGA) Chairman, Hon Mrs. Amaka Obi( Iyom Idemili) and the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing, Amb. Arthur Obiora have urged Oba people to ensure that peace reigns in their community saying that Oba community as one of the pillars of the LGA should continue to support the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo administration focused on ensuring a secured, Iivable and prosperous Anambra State.
The ISLGA Chairman sued for peace through the LGA Secretary, Mr. Evaristus Omega Ofido who represented her during the Oba Patriotic Union(OPU) Youth wing election which held at Oba Civic center over the weekend amidst State,LGA, DSS, AVS, Police, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing as observers.
The Chairman Commended the peaceful conduct of the election that saw the emergence of the newly elected Oba Youth leaders ably led by Hon. Ebuka Chibueze from Okuzu village,Oba who won with 104 votes after his co-contestant, Chigbo Eziamaka stepped down before the actual voting and who also urged his supporters to vote for Ebuka Chibueze.
“I am happy about the way you conducted yourselves. Let this peaceful atmosphere continue in Oba because Oba community is one of the pillars of Idemili South. If Oba community is not in peace the whole ISLGA will be in bad light. It is the collective responsibility of every Oba person to ensure peace and progress of the community and LGA at large” said Mrs. Obi.
According to the PG Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing, Amb Arthur Obiora, Igbo is the most influential ethic group in the world.You may not please everyone but once the election is free, fair and credible it should be accepted and supported.
“We are here in Oba to witness this Youth election and I wished Nigeria and the Independent National Electoral Commission should have been here to see how Oba conducted their youth wing election without fighting, quarrelling well organized with proper announcements and a peaceful atmosphere. With equity, justice and fairness the society will be a better place,” said Obiora.
Moreover, the All Progressive Grand Alliance Party Chairman, Idemili South, Chief Kizito Nwakibeya Anoliefo who represented the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs said that any nation or community without youths has no future urging the leaders who emerged winners to carry everyone along including those who voted against them and build a formidable and responsible youth body instrumental to community development.
Earlier in his welcome address, the OPU Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Osita Ubadi reiterated that the new Youth executive will lead the youths for the next three years tasking the new exco to be law abiding as a subsidiary of the OPU parent body. He also advised them to key into the various youth developmental opportunities made possible by the Soludo administration which include 1 Youth 2 Skills, agriculture with improved seedlings and other forms of empowerment.
Members of the OPU Caretaker Committee Hon Barr. Chuba Oranusi and Nze Dozie Nweke who is also the Electoral Chairman described the election as free,fair and credible advising the new youth leaders not to go into any form of rascality, restivity, illegal land grabbing and speculation nor condone any form of crime, criminality or drug peddling in Oba community.
“The youths bearing in mind that Oba is fast developing into an urban area experiencing influx of non indigenes should rather aid the parent body(OPU) and security agencies in ensuring that the glory of ‘Onye bia Oba, Oba Obalu ya’ as a prosperous land is maintained,” said Nze Nweke.
The newly elected Youth Exco inaugurated and administered Oath of office by Hon Barr. Chuba Oranusi include: President – Hon Ebuka Chibueze, Vice President – Onyedika Unachukwu, Secretary – Ifeanyi Ofole, Assistant Secretary – Makua Enendu, Financial Secretary – Ebube Ubadi, Treasurer – Ogonna Nwokolo, PRO – Olisaemeka Morah, Assistant PRO – Chimezie Mbielu,
Others are Chief Provost – Emmanuel Emeka, Assistant Provost – Ogonna Agha, Provost 1 – Emeka Nwabuikwu, Provost 2 – Chukwujekwu Chukwuka, Provost 3 – Obiora Obidimma, Legal Adviser – Providence Okoye, Chief Taskforce – Chijioke Emebo, Taskforce Assistants – Chinaza Anyadibalu and Makuachukwu Amos Obikobe, Lady Organizer for Women youths- Ogechukwu Obiora.
In his acceptance speech, the Oba Youth President, Hon Ebuka Chibueze after thanking OPU, Oba people,Ohaneze youths,ASATU Youths,State, LG delegates and other observers pledged to run an inclusive leadership which will carry every Oba youth along. He promised to employ a lot of innovation and dynamism into the wing that will expose the youths into embracing skill acquisition, education, businesses, sports,talent hunt and development as against the inordinate quest for land grabbing, drugs and other forms of social vices.
