It was all tears, wailing and emotion riots on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha, Anambra State when the remains of late Sir Oselloka Offoh ,. former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS Awka were brought into the cathedral for a solemn commendation service.

Sir Offoh, aged 63, who until his death was the Director of Communications, Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, arrived at the cathedral in a white casket at exactly 3:05 p.m., amid sobs from grieving family members, friends, relations and well-wishers.

In his sermon, a senior minister in the Diocese, Ven. Chidi Nwadike, said christians should not be overly concerned about their various statuses and positions in life, but should constantly ask themselves: “After now, what next?”

In the message, titled “After This, What Next?”, Ven. Nwadike explained that human status and position in life amounted to nothing without holiness anchored in godliness.
He urged christians to be more concerned about what comes after their earthly existence than being preoccupied solely with present circumstances.
According to him, “After the opportunities God has offered us to live, what next?” using the question to remind believers of the need to be thoughtful and accountable in their earthly dealings.
The venerable told the christian faithful that what God requires of them is holiness, stressing: “God is calling on us to live a holy life. God is calling on us to prevail. God is calling on us to number our days.”
Reflecting on the life and contributions of the deceased, Ven. Nwadike expressed sadness over the great loss which he said the diocese would suffer following his death.
With his voice choked with emotion, he described the late Sir Oselloka Offoh as not merely a renowned figure in the media affairs of the diocese, but also a man whose life and contributions impacted various aspects of the Church.
He consoled the deceased's widow, children, friends, members of All Saints' Cathedral, fellow Knights of St. Christopher and diocesan parishioners, praying for God to grant them the grace and strength to bear the loss.
In a brief appreciation, one of the deceased's sons, Mr Sidney Offoh, expressed profound gratitude to the Bishop on the Niger, the Rt. Rev. Dr Owen Nwokolo; the Sub-Dean of the Cathedral, Ven. Samuel Ezewudo; the diocesan clergy; members of the Knights of St. Christopher; and the numerous friends and well-wishers who attended the commendation service.

Sir Ossey as he is fondly called will be buried on Thursday 27th August, 2026 at his home town Oraifite.
