Celebrating Nigeria PILLAR OF Sports, Donatus Ejidike, who is a year older today

The sport family in Nigeria are united this day in celebrating a man who has lived his entire life, supporting and promoting sportsmen and women. A man who has invested so much into building capacity among Nigeria youths from all walks of life.

Chief Donatus Ejidike, is a man of many parts. An indigene of Nnewi in Eastern Nigeria who has spent a better part of his life in Ilorin the Kwara state capital where he has immensely touched the lives of everyone that crosses his part

A recognized philanthropists, an astute businessman a loyal and committed family man and one of the very few detrabilised Nigerians still standing, chief Ejidike has maintained a steady profile in sports sponsorship and that explains why till date, he is the undisputed Nigeria Pillar of sports, a position he is not willing to relinquish in the foreseeable future as he pledges to continuously offer his widows mite in supporting sports men and women to win laurels for Nigeria at international sporting meets.

He is one of the very first sets of Nigerian businessmen who volunteered to sponsor an athlete in the ADOPT AN ATHLETE initiative put together by the Sports ministry ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games.

His passion for sports did not start yesterday, he was chairman of Kwara state Gymnastics federation between 2008 and 2011 and has won several awards from recognised organisations and well meaning Nigerians because of his selfless service to humanity and his investments in Nigerian youths.

His emergence as Pillar of sports didn’t come as a surprise to many, knowing the huge impact he has made as a key stakeholder.

On this auspicious day of his birthday, the Nigeria sports mouthpiece celebrate an icon, a friend of the media, a motivator and business man with deep foresight. We join all key stakeholders in Wishing him long life in good health. We pray that God in his mercy will grant him the grace to continue to impact on humanity for as long as he can.
