The President General, Building Materials International Market (BMIM), Ogidi, Chief Jude Nwankwo has commended His Excellency, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State for massive flag off of roads reconstruction and rehabilitation in the State.

He also requested that His Excellency should consider constructing an overhead pedestrian bridge in front of the market to reduce motor accidents often experienced in that area which leads to loss of lives of both customers and traders who visit the markets.

Speaking to newsmen at the BMIM office, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Chief Jude Nwankwo also said that traders in Anambra State are willing to support Soludo for directly taking charge of the ministry of trade and commerce.

“Good and motorable roads network are what we need now in Anambra State which is a major commercial nerve center in the South East and West Africa. Let him continue the good work.

“During his campaign Professor Soludo promised to declare state of emergency on Anambra roads and we see him doing that from Awka, Onitsha, Ekwulobia to even rural communities rehabilitating some and flagging off complete reconstruction of other roads.

“We traders obey government directives including tax payment. His Excellency needs to construct an overhead pedestrian bridge in front of BMIM because millions of people crisscross this Enugu/Onitsha expressway which connects about six major international markets.

“The markets around here which attract large movement of persons include BMIM, Bakery market, Provision & Cosmetics market, Synthetic fabrics/leather market, Bicycle market, Car paint market, Importers market and new ones are springing up.

” Almost on weekly basis both customers and traders are killed by motorists who ply the highway as they rush into the markets to transact business.

“We plead with our solution governor to assist in reconstructing cum tarring the BMIM to Ogidi high court road built by out market. Also, the Ugwu Nwasike to BMIM/Site road should be reconstructed to alleviate the suffering of road users who patronize the markets”, said Nwankwo.

Moreover, Jude Nwankwo commiserated with the family of Mbazulike Amaechi, the former Aviation minister describing the late Elderstatesman as the number one spokesperson of Ndigbo(OnunekwuluIgbo). He urged Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Peter Obi, Victor Umeh, Governor Soludo and others to fill the vacuum left by late Mbazulike.
