The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has appointed Comrade Godwin Ugochukwu Okoye as the Acting Chairman of its Anambra State Chapter.
National Executive Council (NEC) of the NYCN made the announcement via a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.
According to the statement, the appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of the NYCN Constitution (2018, amended 2025), with the NEC appointing Comrade Okoye as the Acting Chairman of the Anambra State Chapter.
www.odogwublog.com reports that the development follows the suspension of former State Chairman, Comrade Emeka Obi, over alleged acts of insubordination and executive misconduct.
Deputy President of NYCN, Amb. Innocent Nduanya, while presenting Okoye’s appointment letter, commended the National Executive Council (NEC) for enforcing constitutional discipline and restoring order in the state chapter.

He said, “The emergence of Comrade Okoye reflects the trust the national body has in his capacity, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the Council.
“The Council acted strictly within constitutional bounds to safeguard the integrity and credibility of the organization, especially at a time the NYCN must demonstrate consistency, unity, and transparency in youth leadership.”
Amb. Nduanya further stated that the restructuring was both timely and crucial for enhancing the Anambra State Chapter’s effectiveness in youth engagement.
He called on stakeholders to rally behind the new leadership, emphasizing the need for collective support for the state’s youth. He also advised the Acting Chairman to adhere to the NYCN Constitution, remain loyal to the national body, and collaborate with youth organizations statewide to implement developmental initiatives.
Receiving the appointment letter, Okoye pledged to prioritize unity, reorganization, and youth participation across the state’s 21 local government areas, promising an inclusive administration that will rebuild trust and restore the chapter’s vibrancy.
“This assignment is both a privilege and a call to higher responsibility. I will prioritize unity, reorganization, and credible youth participation,” Okoye said.
He vowed to stabilize the chapter, engage critical youth bodies, and resolve administrative issues in line with constitutional provisions.
