Breaking News: Odogwu Emerges PG Amanuke Town

The Anambra State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD has emerged as the President General of Amanuke Development Union.

Comrade Odogwu scored 576 votes to beat his rival, Hon Simon Orakwe who scored 532 votes.

Electoral officers from the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs of the state government and office of the Local Government Chairman, witnessed conduct of the election held today at the Union Primary School field Amanuke in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra state.

A large number of Amanuke indigenes from home and outside the state participated in the election, during which a team of joint security operatives, including Police, Civil Defence, Military and the State Vigilante Services maintained order.

However, there was mild drama when supporters of Simon Orakwe truncated the announcement of the results.

The results were not announced as officials and villagers scampered for safety even as the counting were already done and concluded with Odogwu’s supporters in jubilation……
