Pentecostal Bishops’ Association in Anambra, on Thursday, urged Gov. Charles Soludo to ensure equity and fairness in the distribution of political appointments.

This is contained in a communiqué issued by the association at the end of its two-day annual retreat in Awka.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the communiqué was read by the association’s Vice-Chairman, Bishop Timothy Obidike.

The bishops said that the call had become necessary in order to draw the governor’s attention to the need to correct what they called imbalance against the Pentecostal arm in the past.

“The Pentecostal Bishops’ Association is full of gratitude to God for a successful retreat and for a smooth transition to a new government headed by Prof. Charles Soludo.

“We advise the new governor to shun distractions and be focused on the development of Anambra and accomplishments of his laudable visions.

“We also call on him to be fair in the distribution of political appointments and to correct the imbalance against the Pentecostal in the past.

“We pledge our continual prayers and support for the new government,” he said.

The association expressed dismay over the ‘emerging nagging insecurity’ in the country and in the state, calling for urgent attention to nip the menace in bud.

“We will like to see a secured Nigeria and Anambra, a befitting state capital and an improved public infrastructure in the entire state.
