ASPHDA Executive Secretary Advises Anambra Residents To Maintain COVID-19 Safety Protocols After Vaccination

The Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu has enjoined residents of Anambra State to continue to maintain COVID-19 safety Protocols even after receiving the Vaccination.

Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu gave the advice in Awka while speaking on the new Delta Variant of Corona virus which was detected in the country explained that there was no cause for alarm.

She noted that the Delta Variant was highly infectious hence the need for people to practice the prevention guidelines at all times.

The Executive Secretary of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency explained that Corona virus vaccination offers immunity against the virus stating that more than sixty thousand persons in the state had received the vaccine during the first phase of vaccination.

Correspondent reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC had confirmed a case of SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, also known as lineage B.1.617.2 in the country.

The variant was detected in a traveller to Nigeria, following the routine travel test required of all international travellers.
