Anglicans nationwide celebrate mother’s Sunday

It’s yet another mother’s Sunday in the church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, as they celebrate this year’s Mother’s Sunday.

Mother’s day in the Anglican Communion is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lenten according to the Anglican calendar.

This year’s mother’s Sunday fell on the 19th of March, 2023.

To commemorate the event, the Church of Pentecost at Obiuno, Otolo Nnewi, Anambra state invited a renowned Evangelist, Evangelist Alex Arinze to lead in the service.

Evangelist Arinze in a sermon, urged mothers to be patient in piloting the affairs of their families as the Lord has prepared a lot of good things for them.

He likened marriage to the life of a man named Obededom in the book of 2nd Samuel 6vs11 where he cited that the man was patient enough to let the ark of God stay in his house saying that his patience attracted God’s blessings upon him afterwards.

He implored on all mother’s to be patient and let the Lord bless them in reward for all their sacrifices.

The vicar of the church, Revd Agoziem Israel had during the prayer session prayed God to bless and protect all mother’s nation wide. The wife of the Vicar, Mrs Amara Israel led in the praises and worship session. She played a great role in organizing the women for the day.

The Anglican Children Ministry , ACM of the church gave a very wonderful presentation which was followed by a loud ovation.

The occasion climaxed with cutting of the cake and fundraising for the mothers. The leader of the women Organization, Mrs Chizoba Orji appreciated everyone for the support shown to them.
