ANAMBRA SET TO HOST THE FIRST LADY OF NIGERIA, HER EXCELLENCY SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU, CON, THIS THURSDAY
Awka, Anambra State – The Government and good people of Anambra State are pleased to welcome Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on an official visit to the State this Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The visit, essentially for the “Launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme – South East Zone,” reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive growth and the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Highlights of the Visit:
- Commissioning of ICT Centre – Federal Polytechnic, Oko
A modern facility designed to close the digital skills gap. Students from Anambra and across the South-East will be trained in software development, data analysis, digital marketing, future of work and global work. - Launch of National Community Food Bank Programme in the South East– Old Government House, Amawbia
A direct intervention for widows, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable families. The program will provide food items, nutrition education, and agricultural support. - Flag-off of Statewide Empowerment Programme of Mrs Nonye Soludo– Ekwueme Square, Awka
5,000 beneficiaries across Anambra’s 21 Local Government Areas will receive business grants, vocational tools, and equipment for agriculture and agro-processing, beauty care, and small-scale enterprise.
The empowerment initiative is driven by Her Excellency, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, First Lady of Anambra State, and will be flagged off by the First Lady of Nigeria.
Anambra State, the “Light of the Nation,” welcomes this partnership with the Federal Government. The visit affirms that no state or zone is left behind in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
