Obiano Inaugurates COVID -19 Action Recovery And Economic Stimulus Programme In Anambra 

The Obiano administration has inaugurated the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, programme in Anambra State.

The World Bank Intervention Programme targets Micro, Small and Medium Scale enterprises, for conditional Credit grants, conditional operational grants and IT infrastructure support.

As part of activities to ensure a seamless implementation process, a two-day training on the World Bank programme was recently held at the Anambra State Small Business Agency office in Awka.

The training hosted by the implementing agency in the state, the Anambra State Small Business Agency ASBA and facilitated by Nissi Computers came on the heels of an intensive media campaign and State wide sensitization.

Speaking on the imperative of the training and overall goal of the massive business support programme, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Small Business Agency, Sir Clement Chukwuka reminded the trainees comprising ASBA team and enumerators that the programme presents yet another opportunity to promote business operations in the state calling on them to make Anambra State proud.

He further explained that Micro Enterprises with one to nine members employees and assets of up to five million naira  can access grants of between twenty thousand and one hundred thousand Small Enterprises with ten to fifty  employees and assets worth five million naira to fifty million naira   can access grants of between two hundred thousand  and one million while Medium Scale enterprises with over fifty employees and assets worth fifty million to five hundred million  can access grants of between two million and five Million naira.

Priority Implementation sectors for grants and loans under the programme include Agriculture, Forestry, Fishery and Hunting, Trade, Manufacturing, Accommodation and food services, Transport and storage, Information and Communication, Education, Arts, Entertainment, Recreation and other services to be evaluated based on inclusion criteria as Illegal trades and productions are excluded.

Intending beneficiaries are advised to visit Anambra State Small Business Agency office at second floor of the Hallmark Plaza in Awka along the Enugu -Onitsha expressway by kwata Flyover.
