Anambra Chief Judge visits Prisons in the state

Prisoners in the various prisons in Awka, Onitsha , Nnewi and Aguata are in high spirit awaiting the arrival of the state Chief Judge , Honourable Justice Peter N.C. Umeadi, FCIArb, between January 21^st and 28^th , 2019 as some of them would be set free from jail.

The Chief Judge would be embarking on his annual Prison visit to the prisons and it has been an opportunity for some prisoners to regain their freedom.

The Anambra State Judiciary press statement signed by the His Honour Chinyere Ossy-Okoye, Chief Registrar and His Honour AC Peters, Deputy Chief Registrar Special Duties reads in part :

Press Release: Hon Chief Judge’s Prisons visit

The Hon Chief Judge of Anambra State , Hon Justice N. C. Umeadi, FCIArb , shall in the exercise of the powers vested in him as the Chief Judge of the State to engage in jail delivery exercise.

The members of the legal profession in particular and the public in general are by this press release put on notice. The exercise shall take place at the following various places and dates , commencing by 10.00 on each day.

1. Onitsha ———Monday 21^st day of January, 2019 by 10.00 am
2. Nnewi————Wednesday 23^rd day of January, 2019 by 10 am
3. Aguata ————Friday 25^th day of January, 2019 by 10.00 am
4. Awka —————Monday 28^th day of January, 2019 by 10.00 am
