AGN Anambra Hosts Electrifying Football Tournament in Honour of Dr. Emeka Rollas Ejezie
The Fun City Stadium, Awka, was ablaze with energy on Sunday, 26th October 2025, as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Anambra State Chapter, hosted a thrilling football tournament in honour of the outgoing National President, Dr. Emeka Rollas Ejezie (MON).
The tournament, which kicked off on 20th September, was one of the flagship projects of the current administration led by Hon. Mrs. Chinyere Esther Anyaegbunam, the dynamic Chapter Chairperson. It brought together AGN zones across the state in a spirited contest of skill, unity, and celebration.
The third-place match saw Awka Zone edge out Nnewi Zone with a narrow 1–0 victory, thanks to the heroic defensive efforts of Achigbo Francis, who denied Nnewi three clear goal attempts. The grand finale between Onitsha Zone and Aguata Zone ended in a dramatic penalty shootout, with Onitsha Zone clinching the championship title.

The event was graced by notable figures in the entertainment industry, including:
- Anigbo Clement Chukwudike (AB Coy Boy)– South East Vice President, AGN
- Evang. Leo Ewuzie – Veteran actor and former AGN Anambra Chairman
- Obi Dike – Renowned Nollywood actor
Medals were presented to team captains, coaches, and organizers, while the championship trophy was handed to the victorious Onitsha Zone.
Speaking to Odogwublog TV reporter, Comr. Oguocha Chukwuebuka, Chairman of AGN Anambra, expressed gratitude to God for a successful and injury-free tournament. Hon. Anyaegbunam commended the teams for their sportsmanship and praised the organizers for their resilience and cooperation.
She extended heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Anigbo Clement Chukwudike, who represented Dr. Rollas Ejezie, and reaffirmed AGN Anambra’s commitment to excellence and unity through creative initiatives.
