Activist mandates investigation of young man killed by policemen in Asaba
Human rights activist, Israel Joe, today, called on the Delta State Police Command to commence a full-scale inquiry into the murder of the young man who was shot dead allegedly by policemen in Asaba.
The activist said the demand became necessary to bring to justice the unscrupulous agents who allegedly ended the victim’s life.
Joe, who insisted that the police have no right to shoot at any unarmed citizen, said: “This was what occasioned the #EndSARS. It is obvious they haven’t learnt, but we demand a full-scale investigation by Delta [State] Command.”
He said the alleged killing of the young man by policemen has confirmed the fears of the human rights communities that there’s need for proper orientation for the police.
