Anambra Police foil murder plot in Ukwulu, 4 suspects arrested. 2 firearms , ammunition recovered.

The Anambra State Police Command has foiled an alleged plot to murder a citizen and unlawfully take over his landed properties in Ukwulu, Dunukofia LGA, following intelligence-led operations directed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips.
The breakthrough was recorded on the evening of Tuesday, 12th August 2026, when operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS Awkuzu, in collaboration with Agunechemba Security personnel attached to Amichi, Nnewi, acted on credible intelligence and disrupted the planned attack.
Four suspects were arrested at different locations in Ukwulu and Amichi. They were identified as:
Obiora Nwankwo, male, 38 years
,Chiadikobi Okoye, male, 36 years
,Emmanuel Mboko, male, 42 years
and Ifeanyi Obi, male, 37 years
During the operation, two firearms and live ammunition were also recovered from the suspects.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects were allegedly linked to a conspiracy to murder a citizen and subsequently take over his landed properties. The Command has commenced a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances, identify other persons connected to the plot, and determine the specific roles of each suspect.
The suspects are currently in Police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
CP Nnanna Oji Ama emphasized that the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the Command’s renewed intelligence-led policing strategy designed to detect threats early, disrupt planned attacks and prevent loss of lives and property.
He urged residents to continue providing credible and timely information to the Police to help secure communities across the State.
