NIPR, Anambra Information Ministry Join Forces to Drive Value Reformation Campaign
Efforts to promote ethical values, responsible communication, and behavioural reorientation in Anambra State are set to receive a boost as the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter, moves to partner with the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation.
The proposed collaboration was the focus of a courtesy visit by the newly elected NIPR executive, led by its Chairman, Dr. Ngozi Ulogu, to the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor.
During the meeting, Dr. Mefor emphasized the need for sustained value reorientation, especially among young people, stressing the importance of promoting hard work, integrity, and ethical conduct while discouraging the growing belief in illicit wealth and “magic money.”
He called on NIPR to partner with the ministry in organizing specialized training for information officers serving in ministries, departments, and agencies across the state. The programme, he said, would focus on ethics, values, reputation management, and professionalism in public service.
The commissioner also advocated stronger collaboration on public enlightenment campaigns aimed at addressing cultism, drug abuse, immorality, and other social vices, describing effective communication as a critical tool for rebuilding positive societal values.
Responding, Dr. Ulogu reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations to working closely with the ministry. She said the Institute would deploy strategic communication and public relations to support value reorientation and promote responsible behaviour across Anambra State.
The proposed partnership is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts to build a society founded on integrity, ethical leadership, and responsible citizenship through effective public communication and sustained value reformation.
