Aguata Women’s Conference Calls for Stronger Families and Godly Values

The 21st Aguata Diocesan Women’s Conference has highlighted the need to strengthen marriages, promote family values, and raise a godly generation as participants gathered at Saint Mary’s Church, Umuomaku, in Orumba South Local Government Area.

Presenting her presidential address, the President and Mother of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, expressed concern over the growing rate of infidelity and divorce, describing the trend as a threat to the sanctity of marriage and family life.

She described marriage as a sacred institution ordained by God and encouraged couples to build their homes on faith, commitment, and mutual trust to withstand life’s challenges. Mrs. Ezeofor also stressed the importance of fidelity, responsibility, and shared commitment in sustaining stable families.

Reviewing the activities of the diocese since the last conference, she urged families to uphold godly values and commitment in marriage, noting that strong and stable homes remain the foundation for raising responsible children.

Speaking on the conference theme, “God’s Great Tasks for the Church 3: The Great Commitment, Raising a Godly Generation,” Mrs. Ezeofor emphasized that raising children with sound moral and spiritual values begins with parents who demonstrate integrity, faithfulness, and godly living. She encouraged women to remain actively involved in the spiritual and moral development of their children.

Mrs. Ezeofor also acknowledged the developmental efforts of Governor **** and appreciated the support of the First Lady, ****, while expressing the hope for greater engagement between the First Lady and women of the diocese.

In his remarks, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese and Patron of the Women’s Ministry, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, commended the women for their contributions to the growth of the diocese over the past 21 years. He urged delegates to apply the lessons of the conference in their homes, churches, and communities to promote a more disciplined, peaceful, and morally upright society.

The conference attracted past presidents of women’s ministries from Anglican dioceses across Nigeria, reinforcing its significance as a platform for promoting Christian family values and community development.
