Ground breaking 30th joint convocation ceremony of Federal College of Education(Technical), Umunze (FCE(T), Umunze)Anambra State

Recently 30th joint convocation was held at FCE(T),Umunze in Anambra for the award of NCE/PDE, prizes and conferment of Fellowship of FCET Umunze.The occasion attracted many personalities across Nigeria namely Dr.Maruf Tunji Alausa Hon. Minister of Education represented, Dr. (Mrs) Angela Ajala Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education NCCE, Dr. Gani Azeez chairman 8th Governing Council of FCET Umunze, High chief Arinze Onwuzurike Gabriel the Igwe Regent of Umunze among many other personalities including the Provosts from other Colleges, the lecturers, parents, the press from far and wide etc.The chairman of the 8th Governing Council Dr. Gani Azeez praised the efforts of the management team of the college. The Provost FCE(T), Umunze Prof. T.O. Okoli in her address acknowledged Hon. Minister of Education Dr.Maruf Tunji Alausa for his great attentions towards the College.The Provost stressed that the college was among the pioneering institutions that started Degree program under the Dual Mandate platform in the 2025/2026 academics session. From 7 schools the Provost inherited in 2018, the College now have 10 schools.The college remained grateful to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for years of fruitful partnership in Degree affiliation program. This 8th joint convocation, the college graduated 1,860 students from2019/2020 to 2024/2025 academics session. Many building projects had been completed under this administration. The Daul Mandate program will strengthen institution autonomy and position the college for eventual upgrade to a University of Technical Education. The best gradauting student Okolie Theodora Chisom was gjven cash award of N1 Million. The college Fellowship award award were presented to the following personalities viz: Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, member Rep. Orumba North and Orumba South Federal Constituency at Federal House of Reps, Hjgh chief Arinze Onwuzurike Gabriel serving Igwe Regent of Umunze, Hon.S. N. Azubuike Mayor of Orumba-South LGA Council among others.The Medical DIrector of St. Catherine Hospital and husband of the Provost FCE(T), Umunze Dr. Hilary Ikechukwu Okoli was highly recognised at the convocation.Many officers of the college were present—Dr.B.C. Nkah Registrar, Dr. T.A.K. Nzeribe Deputy Provost, Dr. A.A Ugwuanyi former College Librarian among many others. The Igwe Regent of Umunze chief Arinze Onwuzuruike Gabriel(ARINDON) advised the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the college as they go out to the outside world stressing that Umunze is accommodating community.
