“The Time to Act is Now” — Hon. Kingsley Ezika Charges Youths Against Cultism, Drug Abuse

It was a moment of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment as the Anambra Youth Progressive Forum (AYPF) marked its 10th Anniversary and Award Ceremony at the Chisco Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, on April 8, 2026.

The event, themed “Fighting Cultism, Drug Abuse and Other Related Social Vices,” brought together stakeholders from academia, the private sector, and the student community to address growing concerns over moral decline among youths.

Among dignitaries present was Hon. Kingsley Ezika, Chairman of K&C Prime Solutions, whose speech became one of the major highlights of the event. Also in attendance was Kingsley Ubaoji, Dean of Student Affairs, representing the Vice Chancellor, alongside other notable personalities and students from various institutions.

In a passionate address, Hon. Ezika warned that society is facing a dangerous shift driven by cultism and drug abuse, describing the trend as a threat to the future of young people and the stability of communities.

“We are gathered here not just to deliberate, but to confront a growing threat that is silently destroying our society—the combined monster of cultism and drug abuse,” he stated.

He emphasized that such vices are alien to the core values of the Igbo society, which he said are built on discipline, hard work, and respect. According to him, the erosion of these values has led many young people into destructive lifestyles in pursuit of quick gains.
“The time to act is now, as failure to act will lead to consequences that will resonate with generations to come,” he warned.

Projecting both leadership and social responsibility, the K&C Prime Solutions Chairman called for a collective approach in tackling the menace, urging government, security agencies, community leaders, and families to play active roles.

Addressing the government, he stressed the need for stronger enforcement of laws against cultism and drug trafficking, while also advocating for youth empowerment through job creation and education.
“Security begins with empowerment. When young people are given purpose and opportunity, insecurity declines,” he noted.

He also charged security agencies to adopt proactive strategies, emphasizing fairness, intelligence gathering, and stronger community collaboration to effectively curb crime.
To traditional institutions and community leaders, Hon. Ezika urged a firm stand against cultism, calling for discipline and community surveillance, while stressing that violence should have no place in society.
Speaking directly to the youths, he delivered a strong message of hope and responsibility:
“Do not allow yourselves to be used as tools of destruction. Choose purpose over pressure, and growth over violence.”

Through his impactful speech, Hon. Kingsley Ezika not only aligned with the theme of the program but also positioned himself as a strong advocate for youth development and societal reform—reflecting the vision of K&C Prime Solutions as a brand committed to “innovative solutions for a safer society.”

As the event came to a close, participants were left with a clear message—the fight against cultism and drug abuse requires urgent, collective action, and the future of society depends on the choices made today.
